Dan Morehead, Chief Executive Officer – Pantera Capital

Dan founded Pantera Capital Management LP in 2003, an  institutional investment firm focused exclusively on digital currencies and companies within the space. He also co-founded and was CEO of Atriax, an electronic foreign exchange platform. Prior to that, he was head of macro trading and CEO at Tiger  Management, global head of FX options at Deutsche Bank in London, and managed a global macro fund and  derivatives trading units in North America and Japan at Bankers Trust. Dan began his career at Goldman Sachs as a mortgage backed securities trader. Dan graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and received the Carmichael Prize for an outstanding thesis.

Matthew Goetz, Managing Partner and CEO – BlockTower Capital

Matthew is Co-Counder and Chief Executive Officer of BlockTower Capital, a leading institutional cryptocurrency investment firm bringing professional trading and portfolio management to an emerging digital asset class. Previously, he served for 11 years at Goldman Sachs, managing and leading many areas of the firm’s investment management practice, including most recently as Head of it’s US Not-for-Profit Institutions business. Earlier in his career, Matthew was an engineer at Sargent & Lundy, where he focused on multi-disciplinary projects across structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering in the energy sector. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the University of Illinois Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering, and for two non-profits in education and micro-enterprise development. Matthew earned a BS in General Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Capmpaign, and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Sean O’Sullivan, Managing Partner – SOSV

Sean is the managing partner of SOSV, the world-leading “Accelerator VC”. With $300 million assets under management, SOSV backs more than 150 startups annually through its accelerators.  Recognized in 2017 as the world’s #1 most active global early stage investor and the #2 most active global seed investor, SOSV’s accelerator model takes a small initial stake in startups and provides a framework and community where startups get further and faster than they could on their own. Sean received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Panel Moderator: Nizar Tarhuni, Analysis Manager – Pitchbook Data Inc.

Nizar leads the research and data analyst groups at PitchBook Data, a Seattle-based private markets research firm that was acquired by Morningstar in 2016. He is responsible for overseeing PitchBook’s analyst coverage across private equity, M&A and venture capital, as well as the firm’s emerging technology research. NIzar is also responsible for managing and driving the content strategy and distribution behind PitchBook’s written research offering.  As the head of the data analyst group, Nizar is responsible for developing operating efficiencies across the team to better serve internal and external client research requests. Previously, he served as PitchBook’s lead private equity analyst and launched the firm’s emerging technology coverage in 2015. He has been regularly featured in the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Bloomberg and the Financial Times, among other publications. Nizar holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from Linfield College.

Reservation Procedures

Guests can begin making reservations directly with the Hotel on an individual basis.  Individuals must call the Hotel directly at 206-621-1700 ext. 3131 OR (toll-free 1-800-821-8106) It is imperative that individuals indicate their affiliation with the Seattle Alternative Investment Association (or SAIA) Room Block when making     reservations, otherwise the rate that applies may not be extended.

Check in & Check out Times

     Check in: 3:00pm

     Check out: noon

Every effort is made to accommodate guests arriving before the check-in time, however, early check in is never guaranteed. To guarantee a room prior to 3:00 pm guests must book rooms the day prior to arrival. Requests to retain rooms beyond that hour should be directed to the Front Desk at time of check in.  Should it be possible to extend, a late departure charge will be applicable.

Reservation Cutoff Date & Availability

Guests have until November 14th, 2017 secure the above rates. Beginning November 15th, 2017guests may book reservations at the best available rate and no longer will be guaranteed the above so please encourage them to secure rooms as early as possible. 

Billing & Master Account

Please advise if you would like the room charges to route to your master account with at least three (3) days   advanced notice. Currently all guests are individual pay own room, applicable taxes and incidentals.
